“I’m 35 years old with 2 young children aged 5 & 2. Healthy and with no family history of heart conditions. I suffered SCAD heart attack on the 2nd December 2019. I was at work where I started to experience severe chest pain which radiated down my left arm.
I was admitted to Sutherland hospital where I stayed in coronary care for 6 days. Their they discovered a dissection of the left anterior descending artery.
Thankfully no surgery was required, with advice that the dissection would heal in time.
My cardiologist put my SCAD down to emotional stress, with 12 months of medication and a friendly reminder to slow down. 5 months later, I’m finally starting to feel back to my old self again ?
