“Here is a photo of me (on right) the day before I had the SCAD. 65 and very healthy (or so I thought). I had been swimming and walking most days and was working as a PE teacher. I had chest pain at 8.30am and went immediately to hospital…drove myself which is definitely not recommended!
Fortunately POW Hospital at Randwick in Sydney has fabulous medical staff who organised an angiogram fairly quickly and found (fortunately) a small branch artery with the SCAD. So taking things very easy and not allowed to swim laps so I am going to ABC pool on the harbour and walking laps in the baby pool which is salt water and heated. Also kicking some laps on my back!! Walking in Centennial Park for 30 minutes slowly.
I have joined the research group at Victor Chang Institute. So thankful for my family and friends who are looking out for me.”
